Site spammed with shit and other newsworthy topics

Well, I had to turn off annonymous postings on the site and block an IP address. I was wondering how long it was going to take before I was forced to do so. I started this blog sometime around November of 2003, so it took about 10 months for the blog spammers to track me down and spam me good.

I'm going to slowly remove the blog spam eventually, cause it all looks pretty stupid. Unfortunately, if anyone wants to post anything to this site, they have to be registered. That's okay tho, I don't really care if anyone posts something or not ... it is more or less just for me to rant and rave on anyhow.

Moving on to other topics...

The control room went live last night. The first official broadcast out of the new control room was at 11pm. There was a test run at 6pm, and everything seemed to go well then as well. I arrived at the station around 9am and didn't leave till 11:35, so you can imagine how tired I was by the time I left. I headed out the door and straight for the car ... and made a mad dash home.

Debbie called me yesterday to see how I was doing. Apparently she's been reading my blog (Hi Deb!!) and read about my surgery and wanted to make sure I was doing OK. It was nice to hear from her. I feel bad cuz I don't really have many opportunities to give her a yell these days, since I stay so damn busy all the time. But regardless, it was definately nice to hear her voice again. I told her that we're looking to make a trip up there soon ... hopefully around November or so. The only question from this point is should we drive or fly?

I vote to fly. :)

Now that the control room has been completed, it's time to move on to other projects. The next major lineup comes in the way of our new Dekocast system, which should prove to be an interesting project. Some how, we need to figure out how to integrate it with our existing IT systems: school closings, sport scores, and election. I'm not seeing it being too big of an issue right off the bat, but it's going to take alot of time and effort to get the job done.

What's really frightening is that we're making the move to this new system before the elections. I'm really in the mind frame at this point to put the elections on the Chyron Maxines that we currently have to keep from having any issues during such an important political night. Once the November elections are completed, we can make the move to the Dekocast with little to no problems, as there's no elections slated for 2005 (yay!).

Finally, I've upgraded my site to verison 3.11. What a bitch ...

Well, that's all I have for the time being ... I think its time to go and watch a movie or something.
