Barenaked In America
Okay, I've now had a chance to listen to my new Barenaked Ladies CD's, and I think I have a favorite song off of the Everything to Everyone album: Maybe Katie.
I really don't know why I like it, to be honest with you. I'm kind of thinking that this song sorta kinda hits on what some of their earlier music was like. My favorite album of BNL has been and may always be Gordon, so I tend to look for music that tends to be along the same kind of line that Gordon was ... sending a message without being too serious about it. The real difference with this album is that they're still sending messages, but definately being more serious about those messages.
On a different note, I've noticed something kind of odd about my CD ... the flag is blank. The cover on the Amazon.com album has "barenaked ladies Everything to everyone" on it. Mine has nothing. I know that it's supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek "white flag", but I'm just lost as to why some of the promotion material would have the flag one way and the actual album be something different. I know I'm missing something here.
Guess it's time to google for an answer ...
